The tire pressure rose to approximately 20 psi when the tire exploded and the force of the explosion shifted the cage. A portion of the tire struck the employee in the legs as the cage moved, resulting in a fractured right tibia and a ruptured tendon in the left leg. The employee was hospitalized.
