On July 11, 2019, an asphalt maintenance technician was removing a handicap sign in preparation for resurfacing the parking lot when a bee or wasp nest was disturbed and he got stung. He collapsed to the ground and had difficulty breathing. He was hospitalized for an allergic reaction to the sting.

He was resurfacing a solid shaft with an emery cloth while turning it in the lathe when his glove, the cloth, and then his left hand wrapped around the turning shaft. He suffered four broken bones in his left hand and broke his wrist, requiring hospitalization and surgery.
