He attempted to get in front of it to redirect and steer it when he twisted his lower back and pelvis area, causing factures to the lower vertebra and pelvis. He was hospitalized.

On May 22, 2018, at approximately 8:40 a.m., an employee was in the enclosed cab of an excavator preparing the ground for the installation of a silt fence. While the employee was digging around the base of a dead oak tree, a limb broke off of the top of the tree and fell onto the cab of the excavator.
