While an employee was repositioning pipes, the gravel layer toward the bottom of the trench gushed out of one of the sidewalls of the trench and engulfed his right foot, trapping him. An employee was wearing gloves while operating a jointer. The glove on his right hand got caught between the fence on the machine and a piece of wood.
