An employee was holding a rope that was wrapped around the base of a tree trunk to lower a limb. The rope was slick due to inclement weather conditions and slipped out of the employee's hands. The limb started to fall, pulling the rope and causing it to unwind around the trunk. The rope struck the employee in the left eye, requiring hospitalization.
