An employee was felling a tree. After the tree was cut, the top of it landed in a hickory tree, causing the felled tree to spring back and break the hinge. The base of the felled tree kicked back and hit the employee, injuring the ribs and the left ring and pinky fingers. The employee was hospitalized.
