An employee was attempting to clear scrap from a cavity on a machine's rotating drum. When he extended his arm and tried to clear the scrap, the drum pulled his left index finger into a pinch point between the drum and a form roller. As he pulled his finger away from the pinch point, the nail and a small portion of skin were removed (de-gloved) from his fingertip, exposing a small portion of bone and resulting in an amputation. The machine was guarded at the time of the incident. | |||||
