An employee was using a forklift to unload sprinkler pipes that were 2 to 4 inches in diameter, roughly 19 feet long, and came in bundles weighing 1,800 to 2,000 pounds. The pipes were delivered on a straight truck. The employee was only able to unload the bundles from one side. The last bundle was 6 inches away, so a lever was used to try and move the bundle towards the forklift. One of the support lumbers shifted, causing the employee to jolt his back. |
