An employee was trying to place a gearbox/motor unit into place using a pry bar and his hands. The gearbox/motor unit was partially in place but did not sit all the way down. The employee tried to feel what was blocking the unit when the unit fell the rest of the way into place and pinched his left thumb, resulting in a thumb amputation at the nailbed.
