The injured employee was assisting another employee to remove a joint of drill pipe from the pipe rack/gull wings by utilizing an extended boom forklift. The rack was in close proximity to the motor sheds. In order to reach the joint of drill pipe, the forklift was positioned at a 45 degree angle from the rack. The injured employee used lifting slings to raise the load and was caught between the motor shed and the joint of drill pipe injuring his right leg.
