An employee moved a forging from the layout table to the centering machine using an overhead crane. The employee removed the crane’s hook from the forging and then moved the crane away from the area. As the crane was moving away, the hook got caught on the centering machine. The hook came under tension and then let loose, striking the employee on the right side of his head. The employee sustained a fractured orbital bone and eye damage.
