An employee was preparing to clean the drum of a mixer truck. To access the drum, the employee raised the hopper located at the rear of the truck and placed a brace underneath it. The hopper slipped from the brace and fell onto the employee's right index finger crushing it. The finger was surgically amputated between the first and second digit.
