| The injured employee had been placing pallet stringers (rough cut wood) into the hoppers for a nailing machine. The injured employee was removing a jammed piece of wood from a hopper while the operator of the nailing machine was also trying to unjam the wood. A metal bar moved and pinched the injured employee's finger against the jammed wood causing an avulsion injury to the fingernail and skin of the fingertip.
