An employee was working on a vertical chain drive on a dumper. When the employee tried to take slack out of the back side of the chain, the carriage of the dumper shifted down a few inches. The chain on the drive sprocket tightened and the employee's right middle finger was caught between the chain and the sprocket. The finger was partially amputated.
