Two employees were felling a de-limbed, live tree. They attached a rope to the tree to help control the direction of fall and ensure nothing fell toward the road. As the tree was falling, it went off course and the two employees went separate ways. One of the employees went into the path of the falling tree, which hit the left side of his back and hip area. He broke his left femur, lumbar spine, left hip, and left leg.

The employee had just started the Clean In Place (CIP) process on an oven in the further processing area. After the CIP process had been started, the employee added additional caustic to the solution. This caused the CIP solution to splash onto the employee's face and chest. The employee was hospitalized for chemical burns to the face, throat, and upper chest.
